York Environment Week 2021 impact

At January’s meeting of York Environment Forum the members discussed York Environment Week held last year. A comprehensive report compiled from feedback from event organisers and from the core group who put together the programme was published recently.

Here are some key facts: more than 1,000 people attended the main events; the programme included 45 main events, 11 late event entries, and 31 walks.

The focus of YEW 2021 was York acts together – tackling climate change. Event organisers reported on how their events contributed to this ambition. Paricipants committed to actions to take themselves such as joining a group or volunteering; there was increased networking among participants and among organising groups; and inceased interest in future events, activities and services.
