Working Groups

York Environment Forum is actively involved as a partner of a number of working groups:

Climate Week 2012: chaired by Jacqui Warren, Sustainability Officer of City of York Council. This is the second year YEF has been involved with helping to organise a programme of events in York for Climate Week (12-18 March 2012). More information about Climate Week: www.climateweek.com

Intelligent Travel York: YEF took part in the consultation process for the city’s successful application to the Local Sustainable Transport Fund. We are represented on the Intelligent Travel York steering group, and we have also formed our own Transport Working Group. This is working closely with ITY but will essentially deliver aspects of the Forum’s Transport vision for York, faciliated by ITY.

The group had its first meeting on Friday 10 February and has already identifed some exciting plans for 2012.

Treemendous York: YEF was at the forefront of the formation of the Treemendous York partnership, which grew out of an ambition in the ‘York: New City Beautiful’ report to plant 50,000 more trees in the city. The Treemendous York group meets monthly and is chaired by YEF deputy Philip Crowe. Members of Treemendous York include BTCV, St Nicholas Fields Environment Centre, Woodland Trust, CYC, Edible York, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, Wheatlands Community Woodland and York Tree Wardens.
