Langwith Village news
York Environment Forum follows the Local Plan with interest. One outcome will be new areas of housing. One such is Langwith Village that will be developed in the east of York on and adjacent to Elvington airfield. The features of this new neighbourhood include:
Up to 3,300 new homes, including affordable housing.
Schools, shops and community facilities.
Local employment opportunities.
Extensive green spaces and landscape.
Walking and cycling connections to surrounding areas.
Regeneration and reuse of brownfield areas of the former airfield alongside greenfield land.
A represnetative from YEf attended an interactive workshop recently to look at ‘place-based indicators’, We know that housing is not just about bricks and mortar. For instance, the illustration is on the theme of health.
