This year’s York Environment Festival.

The summer climate extremes have emphasised the need to understand the environment and people’s impact on it. York Environment Festival comprises a wider-ranging programme for residents to try out environmental activities, meet local groups active in their neighbourhoods, and join others at social events.

Last year feedback hoped there would be more ‘family friendly’ events. Event organisers have stepped up and there are more opportunities now for children to take part, with their parents / carers. In total there are more that a hundred free events. Thanks to the organising team, the event organisers and this year’s funders.

The lasting change the Festival can bring about is more people undertaking positive actions that address the crises in nature and climate change.
